HULL WANTS TO BE NEW MEXICO’S TRUMP

Cuts to SNAP, Medicaid, and universal childcare? Anything to get Trump’s endorsement

ALBUQUERQUE - Today, the Democratic Party of New Mexico released the latest advertisement in the 2026 New Mexico gubernatorial race, alerting New Mexicans to Republican candidate Gregg Hull’s extremist views on Medicaid, SNAP, and universal childcare, and how Hull will rubber-stamp Trump’s worst impulses. The Albuquerque Journal also highlighted the advertisement

“Gregg Hull supports Trump’s harmful cuts to working families, and he’s promised to make even more cuts to SNAP, Medicaid, and universal childcare if elected. These are not New Mexican values – these are Trump values,” said Mila Myles, spokeswoman for the New Mexico Democratic Party. “New Mexico doesn’t need its own Donald Trump, and it sure as hell doesn’t need Gregg Hull in the Roundhouse.”

Titled “New Mexico’s Trump,” the 30-second digital ad highlights Hull’s many public statements about wanting to make cuts to the SNAP and Medicaid benefits that support hardworking New Mexicans, as well as his desire to do away with universal childcare. Hull is also on the record voicing his desire to win Trump’s endorsement and would support his extreme federal cuts – cuts set to kick nearly 90,000 New Mexicans off Medicaid come January 1, 2027.

Meanwhile, Deb Haaland, a former Medicaid and SNAP recipient, is laser-focused on fighting back against Trump’s cuts and sharing her vision for a more affordable New Mexico, with cheaper groceries, better access to healthcare, and safer communities for all. Learn more about Deb’s plan here.
